I am a current undergraduate at California State University, Fullerton majoring in Business Administration, with a joint emphasis in Accounting and Finance. Possibly, I will also concentrate in Business Economics. I am a proud nerd. Though I procrastinate a lot, I love learning new things.
Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf couldn’t have said it better. I have always been a big dreamer. I remembered when I was in fifth grade, I cried of embarrassment as my brother read my journal (with Yasmin of the Bratz on the cover) out loud to my mom. The 10-year-old Nicole wanted a hotel and restaurant named “Lebesy Elocin”, my named spelled backward. 10 years later, lebesyelocin is now my snapchat username, so go ahead and follow me lol.
- I saw myself in different occupations – an engineer like my parents, a chef, a journalist, and even a chemistry teacher. My interest in learning different things makes it hard for me to define exactly what I want to do in the near future.
- One thing is for sure, I love the business world. All the courses that I took and currently taking (management, accounting, finance, economics, information systems, to name a few), really spark my curiosity. Up until now, I have no idea on what to do with my degree. I may be working under the Big Four, the bond market, or a huge corporation as a CPA/CFO. Possibly, I may start my own business, who knows.
All I know is that my dream exceeds what I think I am capable of, and sure enough, it is scary.
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Cor. 5:7
I grew up with a Jesus-centered family. To them I owe my strong faith in God. I went to a Catholic school up until I moved to California. Now, I am an active member of a charismatic community.
I can go on forever of how much I love my faith. I love listening to Christian music; Christian concerts hit the spot. I love dad’s words of wisdom. I love when my family pray the rosary together and pray for others.
I am very family-oriented. I love my younger siblings equally (okay fine, my little brother is my favorite). My parents are my role models. They’re supportive in every thing that I do. I am a stubborn child, so I admire my parents’ patience for me.
Hanging out with my family is one of my favorite past-time. We enjoy eating out, playing music, and camping.
terra incognita – /n/ unknown or unexplored territory.
I want a tattoo of that Latin phrase on my foot to symbolize the territories I will land on and explore. But then again, painful needles and a heart attack for my mom? Nah, I’ll pass. Lol.
I got my love of travel, nature, and outdoors from my mom. Ever since we moved to America, she has been planning yearly trips for the family. By the time of this writing, she actually just planned a trip to Mammoth Lakes for Memorial Weekend. So far, I’ve only traveled to the Philippines and USA (excluding the countries I’ve been due to lay-over flights lol). My goal is to fulfill her bucket list with her – visit Paris and Israel.
